I bought a Kitfox

I bought a Kitfox 2… powered by a Rotax 582 engine, originally built in 1991, with a MTOW of 431kg, and it’s approved in the UK as a microlight. It’s keeping me on my toes but it’s fun to fly!! In this flight I fly the Kitfox over to a small farmstrip called Barton Ashes, where my new hangar is being built. It’s a challenging little strip with a dog-leg runway, tall trees on 3 sides, making it pretty much one-way in and one-way out!...

Fun Flying over Misty Valleys

Short evening flight into valleys of misty fog… with the Hampshire countryside looking stunning as the mist rolls into the valleys of the South Downs. You might just spot a hot air balloon or two enjoying the calm evening air too! Remember to like this video if you do, and subscribe to fly with me on the next one. #eurofox #microlight #tailwheel #flying #uk #farmstripflying #aviator #pilot #backcountry #kitfox #aerotrek #taildragger #farmstrip #airfield...

I bought a Eurofox

This is where the fun starts… I bought a Eurofox tailwheel microlight and it’s awesome! In this video I fly the Eurofox over to Brown Shutters Farm airfield, learn the hard way that camera batteries don’t last long enough, two nice landings with only one caught on camera, and dodge a tractor on the runway. #eurofox #microlight #tailwheel #flying #uk #farmstripflying #aviator #pilot #backcountry #kitfox #aerotrek #taildragger #farmstrip #airfield...

Chilbolton Flying Club to Wing Farm

Fun flight over to Wing Farm and Chilbolton farm strips, shame about the murky weather, but got some good short field landings nailed. Chilbolton Flying Club was up first (although only a few minutes from Popham) I’ve wanted to land here for a while now. I was way too high on approach and didn’t leave myself enough room to descend, so I did a big side-slip to scrub off the excess height, although the go-around was always an option in my head....

Mid-flight Oil Pressure Maxed Out!

My first flight as a qualified pilot didn’t go according to plan. Shortly after takeoff and departing the airfield’s circuit, the oil pressure needle went sky high. So I immediately head back to the airfield, mentally preparing for an emergency / forced landing if the engine quits on me. Ultimately it was a false alarm, with the oil pressure gauge reading incorrectly, perhaps a poor earth connection or just a faulty gauge....
